Can there be a more significant, hallowed, serious, and significant event than the State of the Union address by the President of the United State of America?

Here are just few examples:

  • Bill Clinton 1996: the era of big government is over” (if only he was right…)
  • Bush 2002: “axis of evil” (the rest is history)
  • Lyndon Johnson 1964: “This administration today, here and now, declares unconditional war on poverty” (and 50 years later we are still where we were…)
  • Abraham Lincoln 1862: “In giving freedom to the slave we assure freedom to the free.”

President Obama never understood the tradition, the dignity, and honor of the position that he fulfils. Everything was and is sacrificed to his ideological drives. He is the most extreme partisan president ever. Some examples:

  • Calling Republicans: “hostage takers”
  • Accusing supreme court justices of wrong decisions during the State of the Union Address while they are sitting there as his guests to honor him
  • Blaming all his problems on Bush, Tsunami, Europe, and of course Republicans.
  • Riding roughshod on 200-year-old senate rules and traditions all in order to get his judicial nominees voted in.

So it is no surprise that what we were served yesterday was a boring mundane address that was marked by its reference and emphasis on pens and phones. It seems that the chief executive officer of the United States of America discovered after five years in office that he owns a pen and also a phone…

I am sure we are all relived that it only took him five years to discover that.

I wrote many times before about the president’s lack of the two most important traits necessary for the job of the CEO of the USA:

  • Leadership, and
  • Executive ability

This speech shows his lack of both in stark ways, because you see, the question following this speech is:

If, as he says, he will use the pen and phone only within the boundary of the law, and if, as he says, he can do significant and important good for the country and the economy using his newly found “accoutrements” then, WHY the #$ >! did he not use them before? Where was he for the last FIVE years?
